Hello and welcome to my blog! I’m Habib Rahman, a finance professional with more than a decade of experience in various industries and sectors. In this blog, I will share with you some of the insights and tips that I have learned over the years, as well as some of the challenges and opportunities that I have faced in my career. Let me start by telling you a bit about myself. I live in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, a city that is known for its diversity, innovation and growth. I have always been interested in numbers and business, After graduating, I started my career as in a company, where I learned the basics of financial reporting, accounting and book keeping.
After two years, I moved to a Showroom exporting to Africa, where I was responsible for preparing monthly management accounts, MIS reports and costing analysis. I also got involved in treasury and trade finance activities, such as managing cash flow, bank relationships. I enjoyed working in this company because it gave me exposure to different aspects of finance and business operations.
After Two years in this role, I was offered a position as an Senior role in an information technology company that specialized in Data Centres, Software Development, etc. This was a very exciting opportunity for me, as I had always been interested in technology and how it can improve business processes and efficiency. In this role, I was heavily involved in the entire financial function of the company, including corporate finance, working capital management, financial reporting, accounting and book keeping, treasury, trade finance.
Currently, I am managing the full spectrum of finance. This is a challenging but rewarding role, as I had to deal with complex transactions involving multiple currencies, countries and regulations. I also had to manage the financial risks associated with international trade, such as currency fluctuations, credit risk and compliance issues. I learned a lot from this role, especially about the global market dynamics and the importance of cross-cultural communication.
Also acting as a Business Consultant in a financial services company that provides solutions. In this role, I enjoy working in this role because it allows me to use my knowledge and expertise to help our clients achieve their financial objectives and improve their quality of life.
I also have adventures as a trader. You might be wondering what that means, so let me explain. I trade in equity, commodities derivatives, and currency markets, Why do I trade in these markets? Well, for one thing, they are exciting and challenging. There is always something new to learn and discover. For another thing, they offer a lot of opportunities to make money (and lose money too, but let’s not talk about that). And finally, they are accessible and affordable for anyone who has a computer, an internet connection, and some spare cash.
As you can see from my introduction, I have a diverse and rich background in finance that spans across different industries and sectors. I have learned a lot from my experiences and I am always eager to learn more. In this blog, I will share with you my tips and tricks, my successes and failures, my insights and opinions, and my hopes and fears. I hope you will find it useful and entertaining.
